Steve Nguyen
Artist. Writer. Producer.
Steve Nguyen is a Vietnamese-American director, writer, artist and music producer. Along with Choz Belen, Nguyen formed Studio APA, a multimedia initiative that specializes in the production of animations, lo-fi music, and various published works. Nguyen started his film career as a production assistant at Universal Pictures (Jarhead, Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift). Since leaving Universal, Nguyen has written, directed and produced numerous independent films ranging from feature narratives to short projects.
In 2012, Nguyen and Belen produced and released an animated film titled "Hibakusha", which chronicled the early life of Hiroshima survivor, Kaz Suyeishi. The film is dedicated to the American Society of Hiroshima-Nagasaki A-Bomb Survivors and Peace Boat effort in order to help spread awareness for nuclear disarmament.
Nguyen published and released his first children's book on June 2020 in collaboration with Sky Pony Press and Simon & Schuster titled "To Baby From Daddy", which feature his own illustrations and personal composition of paternal love and advice to his daughter.
He currently resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife, Priscilla, and his daughter, Stella.
