The next morning, Caroline and I wanted to make sure we got to this place in Echizen called the Papyrus House around 9 AM.

Most of this day was consumed with taking the Shinkansen to Fukui, but since there was no direct line, I had to get off at Maibara station.

Today happened to be the Japanese version of Labor Day, so most of the stores and restaurants that I wanted to visit were closed.
