"If you never let go, you’ll never know how far you can rise."
I came across this quote and it stuck with me for a bit. Quotes like this usually inspire me to create visuals that lead to bigger concepts. Walking through Disneyland, I saw one of those balloon vendors holding about 50 giant balloons and thought to myself... wouldn't it be pretty cool if this dude just floated away? So I started sketching and this is what I came up with.
Imagine just rising above it all and seeing everything below you passing you by. To me, this is the perfect depiction of what happens in our day. Although we're constantly moving forward, there is a lot we tend to overlook. We see the beauty in our surroundings, the bright lights and the darkest points. The balloons can only carry us so far, and if/when we get to our destination, where to next? So when I think of "let go", I don't take it as a literal representation of letting go and falling to my death... but rather, am I willing to take a risk and see if I actually do end up ascending/descending or have the bravery to discover a completely new path?
At what point do we really get to stop and reflect on those moments?
