RIP Quincy Jones

The world of music has lost an icon with the passing of Quincy Jones, a man whose influence transcended genres and generations. He was a visionary who reshaped the landscape of contemporary music that spanned over six decades through classic jazz, pop, soul and film scoring.

His collaborations with Count Basie and Duke Ellington highlight his incredible talent, but his work as a producer solidified his legacy. His most famous production is Michael Jackson's "Thriller", the best-selling album of all time. In my opinion, it not only changed the music industry but also set a new standard for album production and musicianship.

My favorite song of his was off his Back on The Block album sung by Tevin Campbell titled"Tomorrow". It was the one song that I believed shaped my formative years and I listen to it at least once a day with my daughter when I drive her to school.

Though he is no longer with us, Quincy Jones will forever remain a cornerstone of music history. His innovation and dedication to his craft will continue to inspire future generations. I will continue to honor his life by listening to his music and celebrating the profound impact he made on the world.

Thank you, Mr. Jones, for the gift of your artistry and the legacy that will always remain.
