Shanghai
Shanghai, the bustling metropolis on China's eastern coast, is a city that blends the old with the new. My recent trip to this vibrant city was a whirlwind of experiences ranging from stunning skylines to famous landmarks.
As a travel enthusiast and a Disney lover, visiting Shanghai Disney Resort was a dream come true. From the moment you walk through those gates, you're magically transported into a world of magic and wonder that only Disney can create. The park's entrance is adorned with vibrant flowers and whimsical decorations. The iconic Enchanted Storybook Castle, the largest Disney castle to date, stands majestically at the heart of the park. Its stunning design, inspired by various Disney princesses, was a sight to behold.
Some of the highlights for me were the Tron Lightcycle Power Run and the Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure ride because they are the rides you don't get to experience at Disneyland in Anaheim. The immersive experiences mixed with exhilarating and spectacular visuals is worth riding alone.
I got to visit so many places just wandering the streets, including the alleys of the French Concession, where tree-lined streets are dotted with charming cafes and boutiques. The Yu Garden was also something I admired, which is a site that houses intricate rockeries, koi ponds and traditional pavilions.
For shopping, you can't help but visit areas like Nanjing Road and the financial districts that are filled with stores and food corners all over. You can't help but feel overwhelmed at how far Shanghai has evolved over time.
Throughout Shanghai, I got to witness the beauty and panoramic views of the Iconic Skyline and the Oriental Pearl Tower twinkling against the night sky. The futuristic skyline of Pudong is what inspired me to create so many pieces of music and art, so I'm glad that I finally got to see it with my own eyes.
As I departed Shanghai, I really felt a sense of wonder and appreciation for this dynamic city. I truly felt like I was looking into what China could become. I'm truly glad that I got to visit this destination and see all the glory and splendor of China's past and future with my family.
