Xi'an

The ancient capital of China is a city that seamlessly blends rich Chinese history with vibrant modernity. After Beijing, my recent trip to this historical gem was filled with astonishing sights and cultural experiences.

No trip to Xi'an would be complete without a visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. This landmark is the symbol of the city and offers a serene escape from the bustling streets. You can climb to the top for stunning views of the surrounding area, but I had a great time roaming the tranquil gardens and temples with my family given the extremely humid and hot weather that day.

The experience at the Terracotta Army was surreal. As I walked through the vast excavation site, I was in awe of the scale of this archaeological wonder. Thousands of life-sized ceramic figures each with unique facial features stood in silent formation guarding the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. The craftsmanship of this site left me speechless.

Xi'an is more than just a destination, but like a living museum that tells the story of China's fascinating past. From its ancient landmarks to its delicious cuisine, Xi'an left an indelible mark on my heart, and I would love to return to this city if I ever find my way back to China.
